Hotel Reviews! Sheraton San Diego Marina & Resort, San Diego, California Hilton Cleveland Downtown, Cleveland, Ohio!
Hi there all and welcome back to Brooke In The Air!
This week I’m reviewing two of the hotels I recently stayed at: the last Sheraton San Diego Resort and Marina in San Diego, California.
And the Hilton Cleveland Downtown in Cleveland, Ohio
Both are rated as 4-star hotels and the pride of their respective cities. However, i had issues with each hotel.
Bottomline
Hotel: The Sheraton San Diego Resort and Marina
Location: San Diego, California
Room: king suite, bay view, high floor
Cost: $1,089 USD for 3 nights
Score: 7.0/10.0
Thoughts: I found the Sheraton San Diego Resort and Marina to be overpriced and not worth the monetary value. The service was a joke and the only real positive aspect was the location of the hotel, right on the bay. The pillows were flat, offering no support. The location was convenient but cars or busses were still necessary to actually get anywhere. Kids were also rampant here, ruining the overall vibe. While this was a Marriott Bonvoy property, chances to earn points were extremely limited.
Bottomline
Hotel: Hilton Cleveland Downtown
Room: Lakeview high-floor Suite
Cost: $2,600 USD for 3 nights
Location: Downtown Cleveland, Ohio
Score: 6.0/10.0
Thoughts: overpriced for the value. Mediocre food, lackadaisical service, you're paying for the view and the fact that it is a suite with a view of the Cleveland Browns stadium. It's not worth the money. The furniture was stained and falling apart,a stainless steel garbage can was the assigned trash disposal for the suite. The bed was comfy enough, I have no complaints about that. The pillows were lumpy and offered no support at all though.
I have stayed in better suites in other hotels in southern California, Germany, Greece and even Cincinnati, Ohio. The regular room I stayed in at this hotel a month ago was worth more in terms of value. If I were Hilton especially, I'd be embarrassed.
