Skytrax together with Travel & Leisure have unveiled 2023’s best airline awards! This is not fare-class specific or based solely on Lounge access or ground services. Rather, these ratings are all encompassing.

Interestingly, both of Japan’s flag carriers, Japan Airlines (JAL) and All Nippon Airways (ANA) are in the top 10!
The only American carrier to make the list is Delta at #20.
Air India is not anywhere on the list, but its smaller subsidiary, Vistara, is as it comes in at #16.
A former top 5 pick, Etihad Airways, has fallen far to #13
Also, 3 of the top 5 belong to the Star Alliance - I’m counting Emirates because even though they haven’t officially joined, they might as well by now. Code-shares with United, MileagePlus miles can be earned on Emirates and vice-versa.
